CompPair has developed a new material enabling an ultra-fast embedded repair. Our material is a composite: a high-performance, light-weight material made of strong fibers embedded in a matrix. Inspired by the human body, our prepregs, HealTech, bring the healing capability of our flesh to composites: composites are now able to fully heal matrix damage in 1 minute. UBQ Materials transforms hard-to-recycle household waste, including organics, into a climate-positive material that can be used to replace oil-based plastics and composite materials. By using UBQ™ material, brands and manufacturers can reshape how most things are made by helping divert waste from landfills and incinerators, removing and avoiding GHG emissions, and preserving finite natural resources. Octarine Bio
Octarine Bio is pioneering sustainable, bio-based ingredients using cell-factory engineering and precision fermentation. By harnessing microbes found in nature, they create textile dyes, skincare ingredients, and health supplements, offering a cleaner, scalable alternative to synthetic chemicals.
Their flagship product, PurePalette™, is a drop-in replacement for synthetic textile dyes, allowing brands to reduce their environmental impact without changing their processes.
In November 2023, they raised €4.35 million, bringing total funding to €12 million. Investors include Unconventional Ventures, Óskare Capital, The Footprint Firm, and dsm-firmenich Venturing. This funding is helping them scale production and commercialization.
Beyond dyes, Octarine Bio is advancing enzyme technology to enhance natural ingredients, improving solubility, stability, and bioavailability. Their innovations are making once-unscalable nature-derived products commercially viable, redefining what’s possible for sustainable ingredients.
